DANBURY — The eighth-grade Exploration Class at Westside Middle School Academy is designing and funding a weather balloon project, with launch planned this school year.
The school focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in addition to other core classes.
Students in the Exploration Class are handling all aspects of the weather balloon project from public relations, launch, balloon and budget. The project is almost entirely student run.
