DANBURY — The former Brookfield schools finance director accused of seeking reimbursement for iPads he never purchased made a quick appearance in Superior Court in Danbury Wednesday morning.

Art Colley’s attorney, Eugene Riccio, asked the judge to continue the hearing next month until an investigation into reports that Colley also provided improper benefits to an assistant is completed.

The former administrator has been charged with second-degree larceny and third-degree forgery stemming from the iPad incident, is now thought to have allowed his assistant to use a district credit card for personal use, Acting Superintendent Ralph Iassogna has said.

Colley, 57, applied for accelerated rehabilitation during his arraignment on the current charges last month, but the court has yet to decide whether he would be eligible.

He is scheduled to return to court May 22.
