More than 400 people participated Sunday in the annual two-mile March for Babies at Ives Concert Park in Danbury.
The March of Dimes fundraiser raised $50,000 to support prenatal wellness programs, research grants, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs and advocacy efforts for stronger, healthier babies.
Jonathan and Kim Phillips of New Milford, along with their sons, Graham and Benjamin, led Sunday’s event. The family shared their premature birth journey and cut the start ribbon with Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton. Jonathan and Kim Phillips were expecting triplets in 2011, but the babies were born too soon and did not survive.“In sharing our story we have been comforted by too many who have been through something similar,” Kim Phillips said.
