SOUTHEAST, N.Y. — A Danbury man was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop on Interstate 684 in Southeast, N.Y.
Troopers from the Brewster Barracks charged Kerzell Barnes, 30, with criminal possession of a firearm. The troopers stopped Barnes for having an inadequate plate lamp and saw a black handgun on the back seat of his car, police said.
Barnes has a valid Connecticut gun permit, but is not licensed in New York, police said.
Barnes is scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on May 14.
