David Paul Amory’s jury trial on sexual assault charges begins May 12 with jury selection in Superior Court in Litchfield

UPDATE: MAY 4: 12:50 p.m. Amory is charged with two counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault and illegal sexual contact.

While one of the January 2011 alleged incidents did not result in charges a second incident at that time did, according to court documents.

During the course of the joint police, DCF and state Department of Health investigations, authorities also interviewed two other young girls and their parents, who said Amory had also rubbed the girl’s bare skin near their buttocks and genitals while holding them on his lap. But the court documents indicate only one of the complaints led to criminal charges.

The charges stem from alleged incidents in January 2011 and  June 2012 at the sports center in New Milford. The charges are Class D Felonies carrying prison terms of one to five years and a $5,000 fine, with the illegal sexual contact charge carrying a required 5 year sentence that cannot be suspended or reduced by the court, according to state statutes.
