DANBURY – The Housatonic chapter of Habitat for Humanity is asking for prayers and donations for Nepal and neighboring countries affected by the recent earthquake and avalanche of Mount Everest.
“Pray for those who have lost loved ones, their homes and their businesses,” said Habitat Chief Executive Officer Jonathan T.M. Reckford in a statement. “Ask that God will provide peace in the hearts of those who are hurting and assurance that people around the world will respond with great compassion and generosity.”
The Danbury-based Habitat chapter is also asking for donations to support Habitat’s efforts to rebuild homes in Nepal. The April 25 earthquake and mudslide was blamed for thousands of deaths.

Habitat for Humanity, which has worked for 18 years in Nepal, had a project planned in the country later this year which may need to be adjusted.
