Anthony Bivona, who was fired as superintendent of the Brookfield schools last year for financial mismanagement that led to overspending the budget two straight years, resigned from his position as director of pupil services and special education for the Winchester Public Schools last week, according to The Register Citizen.

Bivona served in the position for only a little more than three months after his seven-year stint in Brookfield.

“I accepted the position … on a short term basis with the understanding that I would work no longer than one year,” Bivona wrote in his letter of resignation. “We always had the agreement that once a qualified candidate emerged who was willing to make a long term commitment, we would then reconsider the length of my contract. After our discussion today, that time has come and I believe it is best for the Winchester district to move forward.”
