“The Healing Knot” sculpture by Joe Gitterman is the focal point of the Healing Garden
NEW MILFORD — Local sculptor Joe Gitterman’s “The Healing Knot” was slected as the centerpiece for the Healing Garden at New Milford Hospital’s new Arnhold Emergency Department.
The 3-foot x 3-foot burnished stainless steel sculpture mounted on a 4-foot high Roxbury granite pedestal was a gift to the hospital by Lawrence J. and Natalie D. Portell Foundation Inc.
Gittman’s work was picked as the focal point of the grden by Chife Development Officer Grace Linhard and Development Officer James Clark. The chose the sculpture because it resonates with the garden’s mission as a place of tranquility, solace, calm and strength during a stressful time.
