BETHEL — First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker and Selectman Richard Straiton announced Wednesday afternoon that they are seeking re-election.
The two Democratic officials were first elected in 2009 and re-elected in 2011 and 2013.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Bethel,” Knickerbocker said in a statement. “We have been able to accomplish a great deal by working together with mutual respect and without regard to party affiliation.”
Republican Selectman Paul Szatkowski said he has not made a decision and is waiting for the Republican Town Committee to move forward with its nomination process.
