Build relationships with parents, students, and community members and establish a shared understanding of the Common Core at a forum Saturday, Jan. 25, at Cromwell High School.
The forum will feature Sandra Alberti of Student Achievement Partners and will include breakout sessions for attendees to engage in meaningful discussions about Connecticut’s implementation of Common Core.
Participants will also have an opportunity for hands-on practice with the new Common Core aligned Smarter Balanced Assessments.
The event is free and begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
It also includes lunch.
This community forum is the second in a series sponsored by CEA, the American Federation of Teachers Connecticut, Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, Connecticut Federation of School Administrators, Connecticut National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Connecticut Parent Teacher Student Association, Connecticut State Department of Education, Bureau of Health/Nutrition, Family Services and Adult Education, Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission, and Urban League of Greater Hartford.
