National Collegiate Athletic Association President Dr. Mark Emmert will deliver the President’s Lecture at 7:30 pm on Feb. 5 at Western Connecticut State University.
The lecture will be held in Ives Concert Hall on the university’s Midtown campus in Danbury.
Emmert has served as NCAA president since 2010, after serving as president of the University of Washington, chancellor of Louisiana State University, and chief operating and academic officer of the University of Connecticut.
In his lecture, Emmert will discuss the mission of the association and intercollegiate athletic programs at all division levels in promoting core values of competitive and academic success and well-rounded personal development among student-athletes.
“It’s our job to help those student-athletes who give everything they have to their studies and their sport, and turn those experiences into skills that will propel them into the future they have earned and deserve,” Emmert observes in his message on the NCAA website.
