DANBURY — State police have cleared the juvenile courthouse on Main Street after a threat prompted its evacuation this morning.
State police responded to the courthouse shortly after 11 a.m. on a report of a threat phoned into the building, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, state police spokesman.
Vance said troopers responded along with state police canines and evacuated the building at about 11:15 a.m. The troopers then searched the building and deemed it secure at about 1 p.m.
Vance would not specify what the threat entailed other than to say it was a telephone threat made against the occupants of the building. He said it was not a bomb threat.
Vance said state police detectives have also responded and are investigating the origin of the threat.
