A 30-year-old Brooklyn, NY, man is facing illegal drug sales charges following a raid on a State Street apartment by Danbury Police Special Investigation Division.
Rohnen Frederick, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested Jan. 23 when a search and seizure warrant was served at the apartment of William Wormstead, 65, in Danbury, police said.
The raid was part of a several month investigation involving illegal narcotics sales out of the apartment, police said.
A quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and U.S. currency was seized during the search as evident of the illegal drug sales, police said. As the search commenced, Frederick was seen trying to discard of evidence named in the search warrant, police said.
Frederick was held on $50,000 bond on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance.
Wormstead was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as his bedroom contained several objects used to ingest narcotics, police said.
Wormstead was released on a written promise to appear.
