DANBURY — One man was taken to Danbury Hospital early Sunday and another was in custody after a day of drinking led to a fight at a Bank Street residence early Sunday, police said.
Jose Villavicencio, 35, of Montgomery Street, claimed that he used a broken beer bottle to defend himself after 43-year-old Angel Panora of Bank Street came at him with a steak knife about 2:30 a.m., police said.
Panora said Villavicencio attacked him, police said.
Panora was treated at Danbury Hospital for lacerations and a stab wound to the abdomen caused by the bottle. He was charged with threatening and disorderly conduct, police said.
Villavicencio was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was being held on $10,000 bond pending a court appearance on Monday.
