AIEP Host Families, a local homestay organization based out of Connecticut, is seeking Host Families in Fairfield County to host Chinese students attending local, private day schools starting this upcoming August.
Students are between the ages of 14-18, in grades 8-11, study in the U.S. for 10 months at a time, and end up returning with the intention of graduating and attending an American university or college.
Host Families come in all different shapes and sizes, including empty nesters with a son or daughter in college, elderly couples with some extra room to spare, couples who have never had children before but would enjoy some extra company in their homes, those who have considered foster care or adoption, or even those families wanting to open their children’s eyes to a new culture at a young age!
Interested Host Families would be required to provide their student with meals, transportation to/from school (public busing and carpooling where available), and a private bedroom. To offset the costs of hosting, a generous monthly stipend in the amount of $1,000 per student is offered – Host Families may host up to 2 students of the same gender!
All students studying in the U.S. are required to undergo a detailed application process including a one-one-one SKYPE interview with an AIEP staff member, English proficiency testing, and other application requirements for the specific private, day school they are applying to.
If you are interested in learning more about this amazing cross-cultural experience, please visit AIEP Host Family’s website at aiepusa.com, or e-mail one of our Local Representatives at info@aiepusa.com. Students will be arriving in August ’14 in towns including but not limited to Fairfield, Westport, Greenwich, New Canaan, and Stamford, so please contact AIEP Host Families now before spaces begin to fill up!
