Online registration for the 4th annual Officer Donald J. Hassiak Memorial Turkey Trot will be closing at midnight tomorrow.
The event will be at Tarrywile Park, 70 Southern Boulevard in Danbury, on Thanksgiving – Thursday, Nov. 28. You can choose between the 5K cross country run or the 1.5 mile walk. I think I’ll be fine with the walk.
And where does the money raised go? To fund scholarships for new or existing students of Immaculate High School in memory of alumnus Donald J. Hassiak.
Seems like a win-win, getting exercise in early before your turkey dinner and supporting education in the name of a police officer. Click on the link below to get to the registration page:

And if you’re not a walker or runner, but still want to support the scholarship fund, that’s okay, too. But I hear that folks who arrive early enough might get to see the deer waking up and moving across the fields at Tarrywile, so if you can, come on by!
