After a burst sprinkler pipe flooded the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in January, the historic Main Street community gathering place was forced to close and undergo extensive renovations.
On Saturday, a refurbished library with newly designated spaces will reopen to the public. Overdue library books will now be due, but more importantly the welcome mat will be extended to local patrons as staff are eager to see familiar and new faces taking advantage of all the library has to offer.
In addition, the somewhat delayed process of hiring a new library director is again moving forward. The Board of Trustees Search Committee has a survey on the website - www.chboothlibrary.org – that is intended to gather information from patrons on the qualities they want to see in a new library leader. The confidential survey results will be reviewed as part of the search process. No deadline for a selection has yet been determined.
