It’s long been thought that Native Americans crossed a land bridge from Siberia into North America.
But now researchers – both paleobotanists, geneticists, anthropologists and linguists – are thinking it wasn’t a steady stream, west to east into Alaska.
Instead, they think that people lived on that land bridge _ called Beringia – for thousands of years, traveling in both directions.
Liguists thinks there are ties in language between the native people of Alaska and the ancient languages of Siberia. They now think the two shared a root language – now lost to time - that changed over the centuries
