Asteroid eclipse

leoIf you are both enterprising, and awake at 2 a.m. Thursday morning. If  you  know your way around the night sky enough to find the constellation Leo. If the sky is clear.
Then, you could see something rare – a star eclipsed by an asteroid.

For at 2:06 a.m. Thursday, an asteroid named Erigone will pass between us and Regulus, the brightest star in Leo. because Erigone is about the size of Rhode Island, it will block out Regulus entirely.

But let’s say the sky is a mass of clouds. You can watch the eclipse  at your computer, thanks to the Slooh Space Camera.
