A 21-year-old New Milford man is facing charges of drunken driving and evading responsibility after leaving the scene of a one car crash on Chapin Road.
Tyrell Cornelius, of Spring St, New Milford was arrested March 21 after being located by police officers who responded to the report of an accident at approximately 11:02 p.m.
Cornelius has driven off from the scene of the crash where his 1994 green Toyota pickup truck drove into the front yard of a house at 76 Chapin Road, police said.
He was subsequently located in the area. The investigation revealed Cornelius was under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and evading responsibility.
Cornelius was released on $1,000 bond with a court date of March 31 in Superior Court in Bantam.
Also arrested was Cornelius passenger Jessie Edholm, 22, of Sharon, for interfering with the investigation, police said. Edholm was charged with interfering with an officer/non-combative. He was released on a written promise to appear with a court date of March 31 in Superior Court in Bantam.
