Town boards in Ridgefield are finishing their work on the proposed 2014-15 town budget of $131.5 million.
First Selectman Rudy Marconi said Wednesday he expects the Board of Finance to complete its deliberations on the budget at its meeting Thursday April 3.
The finance board will meet at Town Hall, 400 Main, at 7:30 p.m.
Because there’s been no controversy over either the proposed town operating budget of $33.2 million or the Board of Education’s proposed budget of $85.2 million, the finance board is not expected to make severe cuts in their budget proposal.
The Board of Selectmen have budget meetings scheduled for Monday April 7, Tuesday April 8 and Thursday, April 10, all at 7 p.m. at Town Hall,
Marconi said, however, if the finance board does not make serious changes to the town operating budget, the selectmen might cancel those meeting, and complete its budget work at the conclusion of its regular Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Wednesday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
