The Danbury Library, SCORE, CityCenter Danbury, Savings Bank of Danbury, CityCenter Danbury, Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Cultural Alliance of Western CT, Danbury Hackerspace, and the City of Danbury’s Office of Economic Development have teamed up to offer a third series of workshops for those who are small business owners and those thinking about starting a small business.
The workshops will be held at the Danbury Library, 170 Main St. in Danbury, Tuesdays from April 15 to June 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The workshops are free, but registration is requested and can be done by visiting www.danburylibrary.org, and clicking on “Events;” or by calling 203-797-4527.
The first workshop on April 15 will be “Effective Email – Avoiding common blunders with business communication,” presented by Roy Speed, Founder and President of Salient, Inc. Effective email is grounded in understanding the readers’ needs – how they survey their inboxes, how they use the “subject” line, how they read and digest information. The workshop will help enhance small business owners’ professionalism, avoid misunderstandings with their electronic communications, and more.
The remaining workshops dates and titles are:
April 22: “Seven Keys to Social Media Success,” presented by William DeRosa, Principal and Co-founder of Talking Finger;
May 6: “Building a Business through Blogging” presented by Clint Warren and Brian Casel, co-founders of the Stacked Agency;
May 20: “Increase Sales Through Your Website” presented by Gina Nieves, eCommerce Consultant NetMark Group
June 10: “The Power of e-Mail Marketing: Best Practices” presented by David Fischer, Constant Contact Authorized Local Expert and Founder of Solutions for Growth.
Each program is free. Those interested can attend one or all of them.
