Redding cops probe suicide, accident

REDDING – Police responded to a one-car rollover accident on Umpawaug Road early Saturday and found that a man had apparently shot himself fatally inside the vehicle.
The accident occurred near the Route 107 intersection about 1:39 a.m.
The dead man was identified as Gugsa Dabela, 35, of Redding, who succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the head, Chief Douglas Fuchs said.
A semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene and it doesn’t appear anyone else was involved, Fuchs said.
The accident remains under investigation and anyone who might have witnessed it or who saw Dabela earlier in the day it is asked to contact police at 203-938-3400.
