UPDATE 2: The downed tree in Bethel continues to make trouble for Metro-North’s Danbury Branch. The 10:27 p.m. train from Danbury to South Norwalk has been replaced by bus service.
9:02 p.m. UPDATE: That downed tree in Bethel is still causing a problem for Metro-North. The MTA reports substitute bus service will be in effect for the 9:18 p.m. train from South Norwalk to Danbury and for the 9:24 p.m. train from Danbury to South Norwalk.
Original post: A tree that fell on the tracks near Bethel train station will not cause an interruption in service, town police said at 7:30 p.m.
Police said that tree service is working to have the downed tree cleaned up by 8 p.m.
The tree went down just before 7 p.m., and Metro-North officials said that substitute bus service would be in effect for the 7:10 p.m. train departing Danbury bound for South Norwalk.
There is no word on what caused the tree to fall.
