Driving drunk through construction zone

NEW MILFORD — A 52-year-old Danbury man was arrested for drunken driving in a construction zone in New Milford.

Segundo Ordonez, of Maple Street, Danbury was arrested Tuesday night at about 10:10 p.m. after he nearly ran down an officer directing traffic during repaving of Route 202, police said.

Ordonez car was stopped and he failed a subsequent field sobriety test, according to the report. He also had an open liquor container in the car.

Ordonez was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving drunk in a construction zone, and drinking alcohol while operating a motor vehicle.

He was held on $1,000 bond and arraigned Wednesday in Superior Court in Bantam.
