The Danbury Museum & Historical Society will open its doors free of charge on Saturday, Sept. 27, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s tenth annual Museum Day Live! A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at a participating museum or cultural institution.
The Museum Day Live! ticket will be available to download at www.Smithsonian.com/museumdaylive.Visitors who present the ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address.
“We are pleased to once again participate in this national program recognizing museum and cultural institutions of all types,” said the Danbury museums executive director, Brigid Guertin. ”It is a wonderful opportunity to bring the Danbury Museum & Historical Society to new audiences and longtime supporters alike.”
The museum will offer tours of its historic buildings at 43 Main St. Everyone is encouraged to view the current exhibit, “Quintessential Quilts: Piecing Together Danbury History,” during their visit.
