Area residents began setting up their tents early Wednesday morning preparing for the new Chik-fil-A scheduled to open Thursday in Brookfield on Federal Road.
Dozens of area residents camped out at the new Chik-fil-A restaurant in Brookfield this week in preparation of the opening on Thursday.
The restaurant, the first Chik-fil-A to open its doors in Connecticut, is offering free food for a year to the first 100 customers when the store opens at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Area residents brought everything from their tents and sleeping bags to their televisions and gaming systems to entertain themselves while waiting for the restaurant’s opening.
Chik-fil-A has traditionally been popular in southern states but is making a push into New England. The company also expects to open restaurants in the Danbury Fair mall and in Wallingford next month.
