Drug Bust in Danbury

Two Danbury men are being held on court set bonds following a drug bust at their Town Hill Avenue apartment.

The Danbury Police Special Investigation Division and Community Conditions Unit executed four search and seizure warrants Tuesday at the first floor apartment of 72 Town Hill Avenue.

During the search, a quantity of heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and U.S. currency were seized as evidence of illegal drug sales, police said. Subsequent to the searches, the apartment’s residents James Baskerville-Davis and Roman “Ray” Cruz were arrested, police said.

Baskerville-Davis was charged with two counts possession of crack cocaine/heroin; two counts of possession of crack cocaine/heroin with intent to sell; two counts of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school; and two counts of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school with intent to sell.

Cruz was charged with interfering with a search warrant, destruction of evidence, possession of controlled substance and interfering with the duties of a police officer.

Baskerville-Davis was held on a $150,000 court bond. Cruz was held on a $5,000 court set bond. The next court date for both men is Jan. 23, 2014.
