DANBURY — The storm that began around 4 p.m. Saturday in Danbury subsided around 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning, leaving 5.4 inches of snow in the city, according to the Connecticut Weather Center.
Danbury Police are advising city residents that cars were being towed Sunday morning to clear the way for plow trucks. With rain expected later in the morning, plow drivers were instructed to clear the roadways before the rain weighted the snow.
“When the mayor tells you to move your car off the streets, you should listen to him,” said Lt. Shaun McColgan, of Danbury Police. “Our officers and tow truck drivers are working non-stop this morning towing vehicles. It’s mainly in the city limits that the problem exists.”
Officials are also asking residents to remove snow from fire hydrants located near their property.
