UPDATE 2:42 PM: The roof collapse at 13 Clarke Industrial Park in Bethel was in the far north end of a 95,000-square-foot building that also houses Sky Zone trampoline center.
Only minor water damage occurred in Sky Zone, said building owner Phil Clark. The section of the roof that collapsed was over a vacant section of the building.
“No one was in the building when the collapse happened,” Clark said. “The manage of Sky Zone went in early and saw water damage. He called me immediately.”
Sky Zone will remain closed until a structural engineer can give a clear safety report on the building, Clark said. Clark’s company, 9500 Francis Clarke LLC, has insurance that will cover the repairs, he said.
The building was purchased by Clark three years ago. The structure was built in the 1980s. It is one building in three separate sections.
UPDATE 1:40 PM:
The middle portion of the building’s roof collapsed. Police have declined to provide details and it remains unclear if anyone was injured.
