BETHEL – Stony Hill and Bethel firefighters extinguished a garage fire in a new residential development Monday afternoon, Fire Marshal Thomas Galliford said.
The two fire departments were called to Copper Square at about 2 p.m. for a report of a fire in a three-story townhouse, according to the report.
When firefighters arrived, a smoldering fire was found in the garage area, but they were able to quickly extinguish it and the damage was minimal to the structure, Galliford said.
No one was injured.
Galliford said the townhouse is still under construction and does not have all the normal fire protection features.
