A Danbury man was arrested Sunday after he accidentally punched a woman at Cowboy’s Café, police said.
As dispatchers received several 911 calls from the Wildman Street bar at about 9:30 p.m., they could hear screaming through the phone, according to the report. When officers arrived, they found a woman with facial injuries, police said.
The victim told police she was dancing with her friends when Andre DeOliveira came over to start a fight with one of the men she was dancing with, according to the report. Police said the suspect wanted to punch the male but he struck the woman instead.
DeOliveira, 32, of Cook Street, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace. He was held on $2,500 bond.
Police said the victim refused medical treatment.
