Probation officers arrested a Danbury man Monday afternoon after he was found with heroin and needles, police said.
The officers were walking on White Street just before 3 p.m. when they saw a man who appeared intoxicated in front of the Western Connecticut State University campus, according to the report.
Robert Tierney, 33, of Williams Street, had two hypodermic needles on him along with a bag containing a white powdery substance, police said.
The officers field-tested the bag and the powder tested positive for heroine, according to the report.
Tierney was charged with possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court April 20.
