BROOKFIELD — The former assistant of school district finance director Art Colley used a district credit card to pay for day care services for her two children over a span of nearly a year, school documents show.

Liz Kerekes signed a credit card authorization form for tuition payments to the Greenknoll Children Center’s Annex, which is an after-school program provided by the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut in Brookfield. Previous receipts showed the monthly payments totaled $7,000.

Colley, 57, has been in court on larceny and forgery charges stemming from allegations that he sought $987 in reimbursements from the district for iPads he never purchased. But on Wednesday, the case was put on hold until May 22 at the request of Colley’s attorney, Eugene Riccio, so police could continue their investigation into new accusations.

Kerekes is still with the district as a business operations analyst, but has been on leave for more than a month.

Brookfield police will not comment on any potential investigation, said Major Jay Purcell, and school superintendent Ralph Iassogna said the district is conducting its own investigation.
