West Conn professors Nicholas Greco and Jessica Eckstein have been awarded for their professional excellence in the 2014-15 school year by the state Board of Regents for Higher Education.
Greco, an associate professor of chemistry, joined the WCSU faculty in 2009. The Southington resident was chosen from professors at the four universities in the state college system to receive the system-wide teaching award for combining traditional and technological teaching tools in the classroom and laboratory.
Eckstein, a Sandy Hook resident who joined the faculty in 2008 as an associate professor of communication studies, earned campus-wide honors for research.
Greco and Eckstein were recognized at a meeting of the Board of Regents on April 15 at Eastern Connecticut State.
“The quality of teaching and level of research throughout the college and university system is truly remarkable, and the scholarship by these faculty members is both inspiring and significant,” said Dr. Merle Harris, chair of the Board of Regents academic and student affairs committee.
