Police arrested Wednesday another suspect believed to have robbed and beaten a 57-year-old man who had “accidentally brushed up against” another man in downtown Danbury last month.
Fakeem Mouning, 21, of New Street, Danbury, was charged with first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace.
Police said the victim, also a Danbury resident, was walking on Railroad Place March 23 when the incident happened.
He tried to walk away from the man he had accidentally touched, but the suspect and two other men started yelling and him, pulled him back and punched him, according to the report.
The victim was also hit from behind with what police believe was a bottle and he then fell to the ground, police said.
The three males took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim, who was treated at Danbury Hospital, according to police.
One of the three men was identified that same day as Mikayel Zullo, 19, of Aaron Samuels Boulevard, Danbury. He’s facing multiple charges and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
Mouning is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond and is due in court on May 7.
The investigation is continuing as a third suspect still has to be charged.
