DANBURY – Second term Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty will meet with survivors of sexual assault in the military during at a Tuesday screening of a documentary called The Invisible War.
The discussion and screening, which will take place in a student lounge for veterans at Western Connecticut State University, will focus on personal stories and recent efforts in Congress to address the crisis.
Esty will also speak about current programs available to veterans who are coping with military sexual trauma.
The discussion will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Veteran’s Oasis in the WCSU Student Center, Room 201, 181 White St., in downtown Danbury.
Representatives from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs, the Danbury Veterans Center, and the state Department of Veterans Affairs will also be at the discussion.
