UPDATE BY SUSAN TUZ: MAY 7: 8:29 a.m. Police have released information on the motorcycle accident that closed Chestnutland Road (Route 109) Wednesday night about 7:30 p.m.
Serge Kalagnomos was driving a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound and was driving around a sharp curve when his motorcycle went off the right side of the road and he lost control and dropped the motorcycle as he was heading back onto thhe road, police said.
Both Kalagnomous and the bike traveled about 162 feet back across the road and hit a large tree on the shoulder. Kalagnomous was injured but conscious and breathing when the first officer arrived on the scene, police said.
He was taken to Danbury Hospital by ambulance for treatment of his injuries. The accident is still being investigated.
Kalagnomous age and resident address were not immediately released.
NEW MILFORD – Route 109 is closed Wednesday evening due to a motorcycle accident, according to scanner reports.
Cops did not have any information at as of 7:45 p.m. Wednesday evening.
