NEWTOWN — A juvenile was arrested over the weekend after driving erratically and while intoxicated, police said.
Officers received a report of “an erratic operator” in the area of Glover Avenue and Main Street late Saturday night, according to the report. Police said they eventually stopped the car for a traffic violation on Brushy Hill Road and found that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and had a small amount of marijuana in the car.
The juvenile, who was not identified because of the age, was charged with operation of a motor vehicle by a minor while having an elevated blood alcohol level, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and making a restricted turn.
The driver was released on a promise to appear June 8 in juvenile court in Danbury.
